Okuma Alarm-A 1748 Tailstock quill advance over
The tailstock spindle has over-advanced, exceeding the advance end limit position.
1->The tailstock spindle over-advanced to actuate the over-advance confirmation LS
2->The tailstock spindle over-advanced to the in-position LS was OFF.
3->In the case of NC tailstock spcification, the tailstock spindle over-advanced and the workpiece hold confirmation LS turned OFF.
Probable Faulty Locations
1)A workpiece shorter than the required one is mounted. (Operation error)
2)The axis hit the overtravel limit switch before touching the workpiece because the initial tailstock position is too far from the workpiece.
3)The tailstock advance command was issued without mounting any workpiece. (Operation error)
Measures to Take
1)Re-position the tailstock closer to the workpiece, or adjust the dog position.
2)Designate the tailstock spindle advance command only after setting a workpiece in the chuck.
